Energy Star Certifications

The Energy Star program guides consumers to purchase the most energy efficient products, as measured by the Environmental Protection Agency. Energy Star homes are documented and certified to meet this standard.

Certified homes through the Energy Star program attain a higher level of safety, durability and efficiency. This EPA program ensures all systems installed in a house–lighting, windows, insulation, heating and cooling systems, ventilation, drainage, refrigeration, dishwashers and clothes washers and dryers—are all documented and are at a maximum level of performance. Like HERS ratings, Energy Star raters like us document all components from the design process to the finished house, making sure all energy efficiency measures are enumerated and listed on a permanent, searchable database maintained by the program. Buildings that attain this high level of design and execution command higher sales prices when the time comes to sell your home—but you may not want to sell it for a long, long time because these homes use 20% to 30% less energy than a standard home and at least 10% more energy efficient than a home built to code minimums.

Similar to HERS ratings, we perform 4 inspections at the foundation pour, framing, insulation and at the end of the build. We take pictures, measurements and pressure readings and communicate with the appropriate team members if there are compliance issues or other concerns. Our consultations and documentation will help in many ways to improve quality and communication.
As fuel prices rise, why don’t you consider an Energy Star rating for your new home?
