Building departments require “blower door” testing in new construction to document energy code compliance.

HERS (Home Energy Rating System) Ratings document the measures taken to build an energy code compliant home. In addition to providing local code compliance documents, the home receives a certificate listing each component to include in a home appraisal for mortgage and sales purposes.
Energy Star Certifications
The Energy Star program guides consumers to purchase the most energy efficient products, as measured by the Environmental Protection Agency. Energy Star homes are documented and certified to meet this standard.
RESChecks and ComChecks
RESchecks and COMchecks are software models that allow you to see if your home passes the energy code.
Manual J, S, & D Calculations
Manuals J, S and D use home characteristics to compute how much heating and cooling a house needs throughout the year. HVAC contractors use these documents to size heating and cooling systems, ventilation systems and other types of mechanical equipment you use in your home.
Commercial HVAC System Air Balancing
Commercial buildings sometimes require measurements to assess how well air is distributed through a duct system. HEC can perform these measurements using a balometer which is calibrated to measure the air flow required. These results can then be compared to the engineering documents,
